GoodLives GM connects people and places where brilliant work to tackle inequalities is happening

Why movement building?

Leaders of community-led innovation often find themselves isolated from each other, working in silos that hinder collective action.

This makes it hard to learn from one another, resulting in a confusing picture of who’s doing what and what’s working well. This makes progress to reduce inequalities across Greater Manchester slower than it should be.

Collaboration around shared goals helps to break down silos. Connecting leaders outside of traditional hierarchies and across boundaries, means they can share their ideas and learning freely.

What is GoodLives GM doing to build a movement?

New Ways of Working in Neighbourhoods Network.

Teams supporting community-led innovation meet regularly in workshops to explore shared goals, challenges and system barriers. In each workshop, tools and approaches for enabling community-led innovations are shared for learning and feedback.

GoodLives GM also convenes cross-sector leaders as part of the System Shifting Leadership Collaborative, and a wider community taking part in coaching, webinars and workshops.
